What do you need for your first appointment
For your first appointment with Dr Rice, please:
- Arrive 10 minutes early to fill patient details and medical history forms
- Bring your current Medicare Card
- Bring your referral letter from your GP or specialist
- Supply any original X-rays, ultrasounds or MRI scans (your imaging provider will be able to supply)
- Bring your private health insurance details (if applicable)
- List any medication/s or supplements that you are currently taking
- Details of your other current medical provider/s (if applicable).
This information helps us provide you with thorough and efficient medical advice and care.
At the conclusion of your appointment
Depending on your treatment plan with Dr Rice, the next step may involve:
- Booking in for further tests
- Booking a follow up appointment
- Organising a surgery date and supplying you with the necessary information
- Issue of medical certificate or certificate of capacity
- Email or post letters regarding – Travel, insurance, GP, rehabilitation or external referrals.

Dr Rice now charges a surgical gap fee as follows:

Appointment cancellations
Please provide us with at least 48 hours notification upon cancellation or rescheduling of an appointment.
A Fee of $60 will be charged for failure to attend a scheduled appointment.
